Arts Umbrella raises $1.5 million at Splash auction and gala

      Arts Umbrella held its most successful fundraising event to date last Saturday (October 23) with the annual Splash Art Auction & Gala.

      The flagship event, which welcomed more than 600 art aficionados, patrons, creatives, business people, and community leaders--virtually and in-person at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver--raised over $1.5 million in support of youth arts education.

      The event was emceed by media personalities Gloria Macarenko and Fred Lee and co-chaired by avid arts supporters Christie Garofalo and Bruce Munro Wright. 

      “I am incredibly proud of what we achieved at this year’s Splash Art Auction & Gala,” says Arts Umbrella president and CEO Paul Larocque in a press release. “The success of this year’s event is a testament to Arts Umbrella’s creativity and resiliency as well as the community’s commitment to youth arts education.”

      Since its inception in 1982 Splash has raised more than $9 million, with funds going towards vital scholarships and bursaries.
