Ballet BC has officially announced its exciting 2024/25 season.

The unofficial start to the season features the fourth edition of Take Form, a show choreographed, produced, and performed by Ballet BC company artists. Taking place at Newmont Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre on September 6, Take Form is an opportunity for the artists to expand their skill sets into production, management, choreography, and leadership. The show will run September 6 and 7, with tickets going on sale June 19.

Officially kicking off the season is Dawn, which highlights new and pre-loved works from three choreographers. Included is the world premiere of a new piece by Pierre Pontvianne, the return of Heart Drive choreographed by Imre and Marne van Opstal, and Crystal Pite’s Frontier. Dawn will be at Queen Elizabeth Theatre from November 7 to 9.

The season continues March 2025 with Zenith. It features the first-ever Ballet BC commission of Andrea Peña, Johan Inger’s choreography Passing, and another world premiere, this time from Fernando Hernando Magadan.

Closing out the season is Dusk, which will be running from May 8 to 10, 2025. Dusk is also bringing the premiere of two new choreographies to the stage, one by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber and the other by Ballet BC’s own artistic director Medhi Walerski. The third piece featured is Woke Up Blind, choreographed by Marco Goecke.

Mid-season, Ballet BC is also presenting The Nutcracker. This timeless ballet will be performed at the Bell Centre in Surrey, as well as at Ballet BC’s usual home of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
