Banyen Books has announced that it will present an online discussion focusing on the environment and climate change on June 12.

The interactive discussion will feature guest authors Anuradha Rao (One Earth: People of Color Protecting Our Planet), Lynne Quarmby (Watermelon Snow: Science, Art, and a Lone Polar Bear), and Sylvia Olsen (Growing Up Elizabeth May), and guest activist-storyteller Nafeesa Alibhai.

The panel will be moderated by educator and activist Cate May Burton, coauthor of Growing Up Elizabeth May, a story about her mother’s journey into activism as a young girl.

"Panelists will explore the relationship between facts and storytelling in the context of the climate crisis and the growing public distrust of information sources in government and news media," reads the event info. "The discussion will encourage meaningful reflection on the emotional toll of the climate crisis, and help participants transform climate grief into powerful social transformation by connecting to ourselves and others through story."

The free event takes place at 10:30 am Pacific time, with a 30-minute community chat session to follow. To register go here.
