Fans of legendary B.C. carver, sculptor, goldsmith, writer, broadcaster, and activist Bill Reid may want to keep this Saturday afternoon (May 8) open.

That's when the online launch of the commemorative book, Bill Reid: To Speak With A Golden Voice, will take place.

The 84-page book was written by Gwaai Edenshaw and Beth Carter--with contributions from Tyson Brown, Jisgang Nika Collison, and Dr. Martine Reid--and features a selection of Reid’s works and photographs with family, colleagues, and friends.

The free event takes place at 1 pm Pacific time and you can register here.

Local Bill Reid devotees should also be aware that the To Speak With a Golden Voice exhibition at the Bill Reid Gallery has been extended to September 6, and that it includes the addition of two new artworks—the Eagle and Beaver Pole (1980) by Haida carver Reg Davidson and a cedar door designed by Reid and carved by James Hart in 1980.
