Bright Nights in Stanley Park

Bright Nights in Stanley Park definitely has a funky, disco feel this year: to a soundtrack of Christmas hits by the likes of Boney M and Village People, the mini-train ride winds through a forest of mirror balls and outdoor nightclubs, along with more traditional holiday characters. The highlight? A giant, stilt-legged Rudolph in a white ’70s suit who shakes it like he’s in a North Pole–set Saturday Night Fever. And a full-on two million twinkling lights make spirits glow. Don’t forget the Christmas tradition is also a fundraiser for the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund. It runs daily from 3 to 10 p.m. until January 1, except for December 25. There are also matinees this year, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
