Get ready to pucker up and say, “Kiss me, I’m Irish!” over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. CelticFest Vancouver is back and bigger than ever in 2024, celebrating two decades of its fun, local festivities.

Marking its 20th anniversary this March, the annual festival celebrates Celtic music, dance, and culture in Vancouver. Things kick off on March 14 with a weekend full of events, such as the What’s The Craic? comedy show at the Rio Theatre, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Ceilidh at the Hellenic Community Centre, and the weekend’s family-friendly highlight—an all-day St. Patrick’s Day festival featuring live music and other performances, a beer tent, food trucks, Irish dancing, a Celtic-themed market, games, family activities, and more—taking place on March 16 at šxwƛ̓ ənəq Xwtl'e7énḵ Square, north of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

CelticFest Vancouver is Western Canada’s largest annual Celtic festival, bringing Irish culture to the forefront each year during Irish Heritage Month. For 2024, the festival is bringing acts such as Matty & The Barge Boys, storyteller Jess Murray, kids ensemble the Showstoppers, and Irish pop outfit Chasing Abbey to the stage.

“Over 20 years, CelticFest Vancouver has earned its place as one of the city’s most popular celebrations,” says Alan Cosgrave, vice-president of the CelticFest Vancouver board, in a release. “In Canada, March is Irish Heritage Month. Irish people have been making their home in Vancouver for decades now and our history here is growing. We’re pleased we were able to keep this year's festival a free event so everyone can celebrate.”
