The Cultch and Urban Ink present the TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival this fall
The Cultch and Urban Ink have just announced that the third annual TRANSFORM Cabaret Festival will take place online and in-person from September 23 to October 2.
Highlights of the festival--which is co-curated by Urban Ink's Corey Payette and the Cultch's Heather Redfern--will include opening and closing bashes by Queer Based Media; Connective T/issue—Classical Cirque, curated by Cris Derksen and Sidonie Adamson; Kim Senklip Harvey’s Break Horizons: A Concert Documentary; Duckie, a family show from Le Gateau Chocolat; and brand new shows from non-binary drag collective The Darlings.
Also featured is The Candy Show, with Buffy Sainte-Marie, Colin Mochrie, Tom Wilson, and newcomer Keenan Simik Komaksiutiksak in performance and conversation with Candy Palmeter.
"This festival is unlike any other," says Urban Ink artistic director Payette in a press release. "It is a joyous experience, and whether you’re experiencing it digitally at home or in the theatre—that joy is infectious and is something we all need right now.
"With our extraordinary line up of brilliant collaborating artists, there has never been a better moment to engage with these stories and perspectives and to emerge, transformed.”
Online tickets are priced from $15, with in-person watch-party tickets at $29.
