SFU School for the Contemporary Arts student choreographers will present 16 dance films over two days in February.

The two-part program, titled In the Meantime..., will be shown for free on Vimeo February 13 and 14.

Choreographers featured in Part I include Desiree James, Sydney Bluck, Jessica McKeown, Nicole Dreher, Sarah Kennedy, Roya Pishvaei, Ursula Blanchard, Carly DuBreuil, Alexandra Pickrell, Paige Wichers, and Jay Gignac.

"Part I (February 13) explores themes of identity and the relationships we have to our bodies," reads the event info. "Do you like the skin you’re in, and does that change when others are near? What happens when you are alone, with nothing but your innermost thoughts, fears and insecurities? Part I is an intimate reflection on one’s own self-perception and emotions, and how over and over we confront our reality anew.

Choreographers featured in Part II include Camryn Frisk, Teighan Hauff, Tara Macgregor, Natalia Martineau, Mikela Vuorensivu, Roya Pishvaei, Andrea Isea Galindo, Brooklyn Fowler, Greer Harper, Kaitlyn La Vigne, Sarah U, Nicole Dreher, Larissa Horobec, and Sarah Kennedy.

"Part II (February 14) invites its audience on a journey through otherworldly environments brought to life. Both haunting and enchanting, these pieces challenge you to dream beyond your comfort zone. Choreographers were inspired by the spaces around them, and how the architecture and environment can influence their compositions. How do you fit in the spaces you’re in? Are you comfortable? Part II is a metaphorical exploration of our experiences from an eerie and ethereal perspective."
