Vancouver's musica intima has announced that the final concert of its 2020-2021 season, titled The Beginning of the Song, will take place on April 30.

The vocal ensemble will be joined by actor, writer, and spoken-word artist Germaine Konji, a recent graduate of Sheridan College and a recipient of the Syd and Shirley Banks Prize for Emerging Musical Theatre Artists.

The concert will include past commissions from Leslie Uyeda and Alfredo Santa Ana and a premier of a piece by Michael Oesterle.

The performance--which explores themes of communication and isolation--will also feature a quartet of mentored singers from the Vancouver Youth Choir.

The concert starts at 7:30 pm Pacific time and you can find tickets here.
