Whose Chinatown? brings together an art history of Chinatowns and their communities at Griffin Art Projects

      A new exhibition bringing together an art history of Chinatowns will open in North Vancouver next month.

      Whose Chinatown? Examining Chinatown Gazes in Art, Archives, and Collections will run at North Vancouver's Griffin Art Projects from January 29 to May 1.

      The exhibition, guest curated by Karen Tam, will feature works by such Canadian artists as Emily Carr, Unity Bainbridge, Yucho Chow, Fred Herzog, Paul Wong, Mary Sui Yee Wong, Morris Lum, and aiya哎呀.

      According to the info on the Griffin Art Projects website, the exhibition "aims to question how narratives are constructed around the idea of Chinatown and the colonial notions that underwrite some of these relations."
