Idle No More protests are taking place today (January 11) in many cities across Canada and around the world. The indigenous-sovereignty movement is demanding the repeal of Bill C-45, the fulfillment of Canada's treaty obligations, and more.

Today's protests coincide with a controversial meeting between Prime Minister Stephen Harper and a small delegation of First Nations chiefs in Ottawa. It's also the one-month anniversary of the fast of Attawapiskat chief Theresa Spence, who, along with other First Nations leaders, has decided not to attend the meeting.

In downtown Vancouver, an Idle No More flash mob is slated to hit Robson and Burrard streets at 5:30 p.m.

Funny time for a rally, wouldn't most people be at work?
