The Canucks coasted to a 3-0 victory against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Rogers Arena.

But it's still created a problem for Canucks management because the netminder who posted the shutout was none other than Roberto Luongo.

He turned aside 24 shots following a solid game in Los Angeles, where he kept his team in the game until the shootout.

Luongo was also named first star by the TEAM 1040.

His performance has lit up the phone lines on the local radio talk shows, with one fan claiming that the Canucks number one goalie, Cory Schneider, has an "anxiety disorder".

Defenceman Jason Garrison opened the scoring tonight at 7:34 of the first period on a slap shot. It was his first point of the season.

Then in the second period when Colorado was carrying the play, Maxim Lapierre scored an impressive unassisted goal. This came after a dismal performance in Los Angeles.

And at 8:18 of the third period, Zack Kassian scored his fifth goal of the season on a power play, assisted by Dan Hamhuis and Alex Edler.

The Sedins were held off the scoresheet for the third straight game.

The Canucks have eight points in seven games, tied with the Edmonton Oilers for second in the Northwest Division. However, Edmonton has a game in hand.

Meanwhile, former Canucks blueliner Sami Salo is leading the league in plus-minus with a plus 10 for the Tampa Bay Lightning. This has come at the ripe old age of 38.
