Christian congressman says Dick Cheney should burn in Hell

Although not generally known for their overblown rhetoric, a conservative Christian Republican told a crowd of Young Americans for Liberty this weekend that, "Lyndon Johnson’s probably rotting in hell right now because of the Vietnam War, and he probably needs to move over for Dick Cheney.”

Back in 2002, North Carolina congressman Walter Jones took a different view. Not only did he vote in favour of the Iraq war, he was the guy who lobbied to have french fries changed to "freedom fries" when France refused to provide the U.S. led invasion with any stylish Gitane-smoking cannon fodder.

Still, proving that even the most bottomless snakepit of crazy has its escape routes, Jones saw the light, according to The Raw Story, after "witnessing American casualities" and realizing "Iraq was not building any weapons of mass destruction."

Nobody actually deserves to burn in hell. Not even Dick Cheney, although he might be guilty of committing war crimes and if so he should be punished for it.
