Video: Shark rams its head through gap in diving cage

Talk about too close for comfort.

This video shows a shocking encounter with a shark during a diving trip off the coast near Gansbaai, South Africa.

During the incident, a great white rammed its head in through a gap in the diving cage and thrashed around for several terrifying seconds.

Luckily there were no injuries, according to a video description on YouTube.

Of course this raises the question: what’s the point of having a cage if a shark can fit through?

The tour company reportedly says the cage met industry standards and the shark’s behaviour was unprecedented.

The company also says the size of the viewing gap in its cage has since been reduced.
