Tyler, the Creator has roped Laetitia Sadier and Erykah Badu into his new album

    1 of 1 2 of 1

In a weird upending of the universe, Laetitia Sadier, who released a very politically slanted album last year, and Erykah Badu, who is known for being a voice of female strength and equality, are both appearing on shock-rapper Tyler, the Creator's new album, which is expected, as he put it on Twitter this morning, "WOLF APRIL SECOND U FAT BITCH FUCK YOU".

Tyler is known and somehow weirdly tolerated for unapologetically rapping about raping and killing women. In 2011, Canadian duo Tegan and Sara wrote an eloquent open letter to Tyler; his official response?: "If Tegan And Sara Need Some Hard Dick, Hit Me Up!"

He appears to be very excited about having somehow convinced the two talented women to appear on his album, tweeting yesterday: "I GOT LAETITIA TO MAKE MUSIC WITH ME THO!!!!! THATS LIKE THE GOAT FEATURE. GO AHEAD AND GOOGLE HER NAME."

How nice of him to send some traffic her way. She is obviously really, really hurting for attention.

There has been no word from her or Badu, as to what in the hell they are thinking involving themselves with this guy. Yeah, he's talented and incredibly charismatic. But he's also an immature brat and a bully, and whether or not the subject matter is meant to be ironic, as he claims, it's perpetuating the language and culture of abusiveness towards women.

By tolerating his total abuse of, well, tolerance, we're teaching kids, who are listening and who may not get the joke, that it's okay to verbally shit all over women. And I'm disappointed that two intelligent women like Badu and Sadier are jumping on the very crowded "it's funny, it's okay" bandwagon.

This is why boys grow up disrespecting women. Because of this shit.

As Sara Quin's letter asks: "When will misogynistic and homophobic ranting and raving result in meaningful repercussions in the entertainment industry? When will they be treated with the same seriousness as racist and anti-Semitic offenses?"

It not Tyler's responsibility to raise other peoples kids in a sense, it's the job of the parent to teach the child right from wrong

She may very well be hurting for traffic.

Had that album since the week it came out and only realized she was on it last night.
