Black Sabbath brings its legendary metal to the Gorge this summer

According to the Just Announced page of Ticketmaster.com, legendary British metal band Black Sabbath is playing the Gorge Amphitheatre on Aug. 24.

      That's a Saturday night, people.

The Sabbath tour is huge news as it will coincide with the release of the Rick Rubin-produced 13, the first album with original vocalist Ozzy Osbourne since 1978's Never Say Die! Ozzy calls the new disc "mindblowing", and he oughta know.

The current lineup includes original members Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, and bassist Geezer Butler, with former Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave drummer Brad Wilk taking the place of original skinbasher Bill Ward, who opted out of the reunion over financial issues.

According to the Ticketmaster.com site, tickets for the show go on sale this Saturday (April 13).

It's time to hunker down with the Black Box and some fine reading material, like maybe How Black Was Our Sabbath.

And here's hoping they play "Supernaut"!

UPDATE (April 15): tix for the Sabbath show go on sale this Sat. (April 20) at 10 am at LiveNation.com, priced from US$45 to US$125 (plus service charges and fees). Opening act is Andrew W.K.
