Cambridge Needs Feminism campaign asks why you need feminism

    1 of 11 2 of 11

The Cambridge University Students' Union Women’s Campaign, the student voice for gender equality at Cambridge University in the U.K., in collaboration with the ARU Feminist Society has created a project putting faces and giving voices to feminists from all walks of life.

The Cambridge Needs Feminism project solicts individuals for their reasons as to why they think feminism is necessary in this day and age.

With over 700 submissions so far, the project offers a gamut of reasons for feminism, spanning everything from the funny and cheeky to the profoundly touching and triggering. We've selected a few of the photos from the campaign to display below.

Learn more about the campaign at the CUSU's Women's Campaign's website, on Twitter, or check out the full photo gallery on Facebook.

Trigger warning: photos may contain references to rape, sexual assault, mental health problems, domestic violence, murder, and abortion.

"The Cambridge University Students' Union Women’s Campaign, the student voice for gender equality at Cambridge University" - anybody notice the problem with that statement?

The three comments above say all that anyone needs to know about the reason for this campaign.
