Andrew W.K. chosen as opening act for Black Sabbath tour

American party-rocker Andrew W.K. has just announced that he's been chosen by heavy-metal legends Black Sabbath to open on their North American tour, which hits Vancouver Aug. 22.

"I’m just shocked," wrote W.K. on his website. "It’s just the most incredible dream come true! This is the greatest honor I could be given.

"I remember when the phone rang and I first heard that Black Sabbath wanted me to be their exclusive opening act. I was really in a state of disbelief--almost sick with amazement and excitement. It took about 3 days until I fully mastered the reality of this opportunity and realized it was really going to happen."

I like how he threw in that reference to Sabbath's 1971 album. Let's just hope he doesn't get Paranoid along the way and Sabotage the gig!

According to the website, the nosebleed-prone party animal will perform a special DJ set every night of the tour, and "promises to spin a rabble-rousing selection of classic riffs, heavy jams, and crowd pleasing favorites spanning every era of hard rock and metal."

"Black Sabbath’s music changed my life from the first time I heard it," he raves, "and this tour will change my life all over again. I couldn’t be more thankful or humbled by this one-in-a-billion miracle. Can this really be real!? What kind of adventure will this be!?"

I like Andre WK but why is Black Sabbath having him open for them?
Why does the band picked always have to be white male? Why can't there be an ehtnic band picked that could do the same job? Is it racialism? I don't want to assume but why is it always like that?

How about this? Who give's a rat's ass Alan?? Really? An ethnic band? You are a complete dumb-ass. To make things worse, you question Black Sabbath- godfathers of metal on political correctness. I don't know who Andrew WTF K is, nor do I care. All I know is that this douchebag better not waste my god damn time on stage.

Now hold on Jason; just because this guy is so cute and hot doesn't mean he can't do a great show? I used to party like this guy back at my parent's cottage....we used to cook with gasoline, not shower, use the throne but not flush the toilet, you know good times. This Andrew is hot. I am going to make sure I tell all my girlfriends to party hard commando style too!

I know what you mean Brent, the best is finding loose change in there and playing halloween music really loud and then going out for the evening. There was no problem because the neighbors had a hose for bathing.

I've been to Brent's house before. What a dump. I didn't see any posters of Andrew WK, but I know he's in love with him or something. Not sure why there was a bottle of Crisco beside the bed? And it really smelled there....like somebody microwaved Chinese food over and over again.

C'mon ZOE, Crazy Train won't and should NOT be played at a Sabbath concert... because it's not a Sabbath song. Back in the 80's Crazy Train was closer to becoming a Quiet Riot track than a Sabbath track (can you figure that one out)
