Canadian actor Cory Monteith, best known for his role on Glee, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel today (July 13). According to the Vancouver Police Department, Monteith's body was found in a room on the 21st floor of downtown's Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.

"Mr. Monteith checked into the hotel on July 6 and was due to check out of the room today. There were others with Mr. Monteith in his room earlier last night, but video and fob key entries show him returning to his room by himself in the early morning hours and we believe he was alone when he died," Doug LePard, acting chief of the VPD, stated in a news release. "When he missed his check-out time, staff went to the room at noon and found his body."

The 31-year-old Calgary-born actor checked himself into a rehabillitation program for substance abuse earlier this year. Monteith began his acting career in Vancouver after being cast in Final Destination 3. He has also appeared in Vancouver-filmed TV shows, such as SmallvilleSupernatural, and Stargate Atlantis.

An autopsy has been scheduled for July 15.

A non-story about a non-star. Will this be another Sedlak where it takes a year for the truth to come out?
