The Georgia Straight presents Chris Cornell at the Orpheum

Live Nation has announced that American rock musician Chris Cornell will perform a show at the Orpheum Theatre--with Sri Lankan folk artist Bhi Bhiman--on Wednesday, October 23, as part of his Songbook solo acoustic tour.

On Cornell's upcoming tour, fans will have the opportunity to hear acoustic versions of songs he has written throughout his career, including arrangements from King Animal, Soundgarden’s first new studio album in over 16 years.  

 This year also marks the launch of the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, which gives aid to vulnerable children. One dollar of every ticket sold on the tour will be donated to the Foundation, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit ChildHaven’s Creative Music Therapy Program Expansion. 

 Tickets for the all-ages show are priced at $36, $50.50, & $66 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (August 23) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.
