The model who posted a video of Chinese tourists behaving badly in an airport has been bombarded with hundreds of abusive comments on her Facebook page.

Duangjai Phichitamphon been called transgender and a "lady boy". And her country of birth, Thailand, was ridiculed for its poverty, according to the shanghaiist.com.

Last week, Phichatamphon used a cellphone to show how Chinese tourists overran orderly lineups at South Korea's Jeju International Airport.

The footage captured the Thai celebrity on a rant about the Chinese people's lack of manners.

It ended up being posted on YouTube, then went viral around the world.

"When you have no basis for an argument, abuse the plaintiff." -Cicero

Living in White Rock, one can not help but notice that bad manners among tourists are NOT limited to any kind of group or demographic. We don't bother filming that here, it's just a given.

Funny how the response was "You filthy so-and-so!" and not "We do TOO have manners!" Rather more damning than the YouTube clip, I would think.

Chinese tourists are the new Americans/Canadians. Loud and rude. If they don't understand you just start shouting louder.

This happens here in Vancouver as well, I have to say good for her, it's all true they have zero manners it's creating racism like this. It should also be said that there lack of driving skill and rules for the road is horrible as well.

Let these Chinese tourists visit the United States in a, "stand your ground" red state and see what happens to them.

I believe Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and possibly Phoenix all have non-stop flights from China.

I read an article about this worldwide phenomena of just how rude and crude Chinese tourists are and the worst hit has been Hong Kong, who want to put a limit on the number of mainland tourists.

To be fair, it's mainly the older Chinese who are bad and the article just linked it to the level of education and the fact that up until recently you had to be aggressive if you wanted a slice of the pie. Younger people, especially with western educations, are no different than any other tourists. However, I love the fact that we can now call them the Ugly Chinese and I think we need to shame them as much as possible. They deserve it.

Not the most elegant of rants, but not without some truth either. I witnessed a similar incident in Ottawa...the flight staff had to shutter the boarding gate to get a tour group to disperse. They refused to listen, and would not back off despite repeated requests to step away from the counter. So, airline staff locked up and walked away until they dispersed. Not hard to see how people get trampled.

I was in an airport in China and our Chinese tour guide instructed us to do the same thing. When the counter opens, rush up to the front or we will never get through. Everybody else there did the same thing... he even made a joke about keeping your elbows up to push through.

      it's just a cultural thing

I too was just on an airplane with Chinese tourists and instead of waiting for each row to disembark in an orderly manner they pushed, quite literally, to the front. Everyone else was aghast but you just have to laugh, really--or else bend out your elbows and push too.

As much as it sucks, it's not wrong.

Chyeah. It's racist. But it's true. Which sucks because I WANT to believe it's just people cherry-picking their data and picking on a minority, but mainland Chinese people are seriously inept when it comes to social norms and awareness of surroundings. I live in Vancouver and I ride public transit. Every. Single. Bus ride, is brimming with Chinese people who cannot read, or speak English and have no idea to cue a stop or open the doors or where to sit so that it makes sense, and they just end up making everyone else's life cluttered and illogical. They crowd the exits and halls when there are a million seats available and people have to scream at them to make them move. It's ridiculous.

I honestly want to know why Chinese people are seemingly more and more inept to social standards and etiquette. You'd think you'd watch and learn a little if you were in a country where things were different in order to not cause a ruckus.

      It's not racism

I think people get race and culture mixed up. Pointing out something about the way certain groups of Chinese tourists behave has nothing to do with their genetic makeup. It's totally do to with cultural aspects, such as age, region and level of education.
