If you’re not up for eating a burger, hot-dog, or mini doughnuts, chances are you usually have dinner before enjoying a sporting event or concert at Rogers Arena. The downtown Vancouver venue, however, has added a new fast-food option for its customers.

Starting today (September 16), a selection of packaged curries from Vij’s will be offered at the arena. The Indian curries—which include curried chicken and chickpeas, and a vegan navy-bean and kale—will be sold at stand 321 on the 300-level concourse.

“I am really excited to share my food with passionate Canucks fans at the home of hockey in Vancouver,” Vikram Vij, chef and owner of Vij’s and Rangoli restaurants, stated in a news release.

Rogers Arena isn’t the first large-scale events venue to work with Vij. His packaged curries have been available at B.C. Place Stadium since its reopening in 2011.

The fast-food addition to Rogers Arena comes just in time for hockey fans catching the Canucks vs. San Jose preseason game tonight. The first home game of the regular NHL season takes place on October 5 when the Vancouver Canucks host he Edmonton Oilers.

Rumour has it that the Montreal Canadiens will have to ban foods that have "conspicuous flavours". e.g. No cumin, cardamom, coriander, turmeric, etc. No sushi either, because that Wasabi stuff is VERY conspicuous.

Christian and Jewish food might be okay though, given the general absence of seasoning.
