On April 8, the MV Marathassa began leaking bunker fuel into Vancouver's English Bay.

Small releases of oil continued until April 13.

Oil has washed up on beaches at English Bay, Stanley Park, CRAB Park, New Brighton Park, and the North Shore.

Local resident Stacia Leyes took a walk on Wednesday (April 15) in Stanley Park.

I found this link on a local Vancouver history blog. It's ex-newspaper photographer John Denniston's site and shows that this oil spill wasn't that big of a deal, when put into context with our history.
