Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has become the first Indian woman to be cast in the lead role on an American TV series.
The former Miss World 2000 rose to fame in India, becoming one of Bollywood's highest paid stars. But she's now set to rise to fame in the U.S.
In Bollywood, she's best known for roles in films such as the sci-fi blockbuster Krrish, the modelling industry drama Fashion, the action-thriller Don, the gay-themed rom-com Dostana, and the rom-com Barfi!, in which she portrayed an autistic woman.
Over the past few years, Chopra had been making her crossover to Hollywood, by doing voicework for the Disney animated film Planes as well as releasing a music video featuring Pitbull called "Exotic".
Now, she's the lead star of the drama series Quantico, which has been picked up by ABC for its fall season.
Chopra plays the role of Alex Parish, a part-Indian, part-Caucasian FBI recruit undergoing training at a base in Virginia. However, things change when she becomes suspected of masterminding a devastating attack on New York City.
Her costars include Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Tate Ellington, Johanna Braddy, Dougray Scott, Graham Rogers, and Yasmine Al Massri.
As if that's not enough, Chopra also stars in two Bollywood releases this year: Dil Dhadakne Do and Bajirao Mastani.
