Car dealership sees social media marketing opportunity in SkyTrain shutdown

You probably spent part of this morning riding a bus that was much more crowded than usual. But at least your ride was free and you had poetry to read, right?

One car dealership viewed today's SkyTrain outage, which is being blamed on a TransLink crew-involved bird's nest fire, as a social media marketing opportunity.

Langley Fiat, which is actually located in Surrey, posted this on Twitter:

Sure, this opportunism probably won't make the list of the biggest social media marketing fails of 2015.

But does it make you want to ditch your transit pass and buy a car asap?

By the way, it looks like the 2015 Fiat 500 Pop starts at $17,690.

Update (2:19 p.m.): Langley Fiat has tweeted again.
