Trailer Park Boys to host Kush Cup in Vancouver

    1 of 3 2 of 3

Hey potheads and trailer parkers, take note: Vancouver fans of those Trailer Park Boys and cannabis will be stoked to know that the fourth annual Kush Cup will take place in Vancouver.

Three bud-filled days of marijuana-strain judging, concerts (musical acts are still to be announced), and a boat cruise will take place from July 10 to 12.

Here are those fuckers giving Kush.ca's Mark Klokeid an appropriately foul-mouthed shoutout from the SwearNet studios.

And here's an official, alley-based announcement about the Kush Cup. To quote the wise words of the announcer, "Wooooooo. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa."

Tickets, which range from $250 to $420, are available at 15 Weeds Glass and Gifts locations throughout the Lower Mainland. For more info, visit the Kush.ca website.

More juvenile hedonistic foolishness. The cannabis is a powerful plant medicine & need be respected as such.

Lost Generation ... Sober up. Do something to truly help yourself - lest today you eat, smoke & be merry - for tomorrow you meet your maker & have to give account of your selfish exist.

Cannabis may actually, some strains, be a potent anti-psychotic, so it is not any wonder that cannabis users aren't buying into your ridiculous "tomorrow you meet your maker" jive. That sort of woo-woo only works on mentally ill people, you know.

Where is your evidence that 'some strains are a potent anti-psychotic'?

Dr. David Suzuki has brought forth evidence that weed is often a trigger in adolescent onset schizophrenia. The proof is readily googabil.

Consider this anecdotal evidence about adult onset ganja psychosis. One of the leading advocates of the misuse of the cannibus plant medicine was Bob Marley & the Wailers - Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer. Bob M regardless his beautiful powerful music - fell on his face - with a big phatty ganja spliff in his consciousness. Just before he was was diagnosed with cancer he stomped a man (Don Taylor) into the E.R. - Never mind leading a generation of Rascalfarians into stupid religion, womanizing etc. His original band-mate Peter Tosh (Mr. Legalize It) ended his life with the ghetto title 'The Barber' because of his proclivity to pull out his knife & forcibly barber young dreadlocks who didn't endorse his form of stupid ganja religion. The surviving Wailer - Bunny is now a drooling ego-maniac.

The weed is a powerful plant medicine & need be used appropriately for M.S., certain cancers etc. - not for inebriation and as an excuse to not take an honest look at your need for personal transformation.

Case in point - Aspirin was originally synthesized from the bark of the willow tree - but if you abuse aspirin it will soon blow a hole in your guts. Likewise if you abuse cannibus it will blow a hole in your judgement.

These guys are boorish. They are to the economically disenfranchised what minstrelsy is to African Americans. The sad part is that they are probably smart enough to know it. Successful? Sure, the way Jim Varney was successful. Trapped in these ignorant limited and grotesque creations. Cannabis is coming out of the closet and these kinds of negative stereotypes are going to be left behind. The sooner the better. You know who else was a pothead? Carl Sagan. Now that guy was funny!
