Lauren Mote wins Canadian Bartender of the Year at Diageo World Class Canada competition

      Bittered Sling's Lauren Mote has become the first woman to win the Diageo World Class Canada bartending competition.

      The UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar manager competed from June 22 to 24 in Chicago against 10 of Canada’s top bartenders.

      As the 2015 Canadian champion, Mote will travel to Cape Town, South Africa, for the Diageo World Class Global Finals from August 28 to September 5, 2015.

      She will represent Canada against bartenders from 57 countries.
