EQ3 Furniture's stunning new showroom will be officially unveiled to the public this weekend, but the Straight was invited in for a sneak peek at the Canadian-based furniture company's new location, just a stone's throw away from where the old showroom stood at Granville and West 7th Avenue.

Now housed in a larger, brighter, and more inviting space right on the corner of Granville and Broadway (2536 Granville Street), the 10,000 square-foot showroom features floor-to-celing windows, skylights, and custom oak and birch flooring. In addition to the aesthetically pleasing fixtures, the store features a Marimekko shop-in-shop, as well as a greater variety of fully-customizable, Canadian-made upholstery, products, and furniture.

"I'm still in awe of how beautiful the store turned out," said Kevin Millikin, the store's general manager. Millikin has been with the company for almost five years, and says the new space creates "a warm, welcoming environment for our customers".

"We used to have a second floor at our other building and it was a little more challenging to get our customers to look upstairs. The building was 110 years old, and there was no elevator access so unfortunately if our customers were disabled or if they were older and couldn't climb the stairs, it was difficult," said Millikin.

"Being all on one floor is the largest appeal of our new location."

The store's grand opening will take place on Saturday (July 4) at 9 a.m. Beverages and refreshments will be served, and customers will have a chance to enter to win exclusive prizes.
