The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Vancouver Folk Music Festival

      From July 17 to 19, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival takes over Jericho Beach Park (3941 Point Grey).

      This year, the annual celebration of folk music features over 60 acts hailing from more than 15 countries from around the world.

      Headlining acts on Friday, July 17 include Frazey Ford, Said the Whale, Hawksley Workman, Richard Thompson, and Melbourne Ska Orchestra.

      On Saturday, July 18, main-stage acts include Adam Cohen; I'm With Her, featuring Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O' Donovan; Basia Bulat; Blind Pilot; and Trampled with Turtles.

      Headlining acts on Sunday, July 19 include Bassekou Kouyaté and Ngoni Ba, Lucius, Phosphorescent, and Angélique Kidjo.

      Other highlights of this year's festival include early opening hours and the previously announced Friday-afternoon workshops.

      Tickets for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival range from $40 to $170 and are available online in advance.
