The sunset provided a glorious coda to the 2015 Vancouver Folk Festival's opening day Friday.

As legendary singer-guitarist Richard Thompson finished a 45-minute set and Mama Kim kept the music flowing during the setup for the Main Stage's closer, the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, the sky caught fire.

Earlier in the day, Thompson performed in a Stage 2 workshop, called Hard Luck Stories, along with Mary Gauthier, Marlon Williams, and Lindi Ortega.
