Lululemon Athletica launches beer with Stanley Park Brewing

When you hear the name lululemon athletica, what do you think of?

Do alcoholic beverages come to mind? No? Well, that may soon change.

With craft brews all the rage, the Vancouver-based company, known for its yoga and running wear, and Stanley Park Brewing first joined forces when it made a special Strawberry Wit Beer available only at lululemon's 2014 SeaWheeze Half Marathon and Sunset Festival.

This year, the companies have launched a lager that hit select British Columbian and Albertan liquor store shelves for a limited time on July 20. It will also be available at the Sunset Festival after the annual SeaWheeze Half-Marathon at Stanley Park on August 15.

The Curiosity Lager consists of an Alberta-farmed Pale Malt with chinook and lemondrop hops. The latter is an experimental lemon-citrus aromatic hop. The pale straw-yellow beer comes in a 500mL tall can with 4.6 percent alcohol.

According to a news release, the companies wanted to create a brew desirable after a hot, sweaty run on the seawall. (It remains to be seen if the yoga crowd will take to the brew after a hot, sweaty yoga session.)

Brewmaster Todd Fowler describes the beer as light with an "approachable bitterness".

Partial proceeds from sales of the lager will go to the Stanley Park Ecology Society.

saving water seems to be the mantra these days.

so while your sprinkler is turned off and you're cooling off by sipping trendy beer, you might want to contemplate that for every litre of beer produced 5 to 10 litres of water is used.
      enjoy....

Alcohol is a toxic substance with serious consequences for governance, public health, etc. Promoting alcohol is very irresponsible, and alcohol certainly has no place in any health-conscious lifestyle.

"...wanted to create a brew desirable after a hot, sweaty run on the seawall" but Stanley Park Brewing makes terrible beer.
