Grace Park returns to Vancouver in Hawaii Five-O

Hawaii Five-O is filming in Chinatown because the local star, Grace Park, recently gave birth in our city.

That's according to the YVR Shoots website, which relied on a tweet from @SarahHeartie to report that the CBS show had set up a scene in Stanley Park.

"And then moved to Chinatown for this sequence of Kono (Park) walking down Pender Street dressed as Hong Kong, judging from the license plates on the prop cars and the background performers," YVR Shoots declared.

Park, who plays Hawaii Five-O officer Kono Kalakaua, made her first feature-film appearance in the gangster thriller West 32nd, which closed the Vancouver Asian Film Festival in 2008.

The Magee secondary and UBC grad has also had roles in various television shows, including Battlestar Galactica, The Border, and Human Target.

I take back all the bad things I've ever said about Magee Secondary, UBC, Charlie Smith, the Straight, Chinatown, Pender Street, Hong Kong, and Hawaii.

      Gosh, Grace Park is something.

There's one reason that I watch Hawaii Five O - Grace Park. No, not Danno. No, not Stevie. So proud that she`s from BC.
