CBC reporter files RCMP complaint after being kissed on air
CBC reporter Megan Batchelor has filed a complaint with the RCMP after being kissed by a man on camera.
Batchelor was doing a live hit for the 6 p.m. newscast from the Squamish Valley Music Festival on Friday (August 7) when the man assaulted her while taking a selfie.
"As much as I'm not physically hurt, I'm rattled," she told the CBC. "I was just doing my job when this happened, and I feel like he deliberately tried to interfere with my ability to do my job just for a laugh."
Anyone with knowledge of the assailant's identity is asked to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100 with the file number 2015-5227.
In May, Shawn Simoes was fired from his job with Hydro One after his sexist heckling of City News reporter Shauna Hunt outside of a soccer game.
UPDATE (August 10): CBC reporter Megan Batchelor accepts apology from kissing teen Daniel Davies.

@Mace
Being kissed by a stranger is no longer as benign as you think, given the low but real risk of serious disease transmission via bodily fluids' Hepatitis B and C come to mind.
And you know, the kind of lads that have such poor impulse control that they'll grope and open-mouth kiss a stranger are just the sort to shun condoms on the spur of the moment and share needles in a pinch.

It is never okay to touch someone without their consent. Its important for all women to stand up and say this isn't okay and demand it stop, be dealt with. Good for her.
Imagine what this little prick would do if someone did that to him. Maybe a large man, for example. It wouldn't be all harmless fun then would it? Well, it's not harmless fun here either.
Fire the CBC!!

The police have real crime to investigate & this is just silly. I know others will disagree with me & that is okay.

He need be found guilty in a court of law ... but a long sentence is not necessary ... a few days in max with the big-boys who detest skinners will teach him a lesson he will never forget!

"assault"...from the federal Criminal Code:
265. (1) A person commits an assault when
(a) without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly;
(b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose; or
(c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs.

I hope every one who thinks this isn't a 'real crime' and that she needs to 'get over it' experiences some sexual harassment while they're trying to do their job. Maybe if you aren't capable of empathy karma will make you sympathetic instead.

Just a reminder to those that think it is 'cool' and 'funny' behaving without thinking first on the responsibility and accountability of your actions.
It isn't.
It is known as willful ignorance and you will have a a reckoning in a court of law.
