A 22-year-old man was left with a bullet hole in his Toyota Corolla after a road rage incident resulted in gunshots being fired.

Richmond RCMP say they received reports of shots fired in the area of Westminster Highway and Garden City Road after 8:30 p.m. on Monday (August 17).

"A male suspect was seen fleeing in a dark coloured sedan travelling northbound at a high rate of speed on Garden City Road," according to a Richmond RCMP news release.

“At this point, we believe that the shooting was initiated by a driving altercation and it appears to have been taken to the extreme. We are following up on a number of leads and going through surveillance footage. We are working with our law enforcement partners to see if there are connections to other recent shootings. We are extremely thankful that no one was injured,” Cpl. Dennis Hwang of the Richmond RCMP said in the release.
