Members of Cineplex's SCENE Club received a pleasant message in their email inboxes this morning.

The Canadian cinema giant has knocked prices down 50 percent for its "Tuesday Everyday" promotion between Monday (August 31) and Friday (September 4).

The Tuesday pricing applies to traditional movies as well as for 3D, IMAM, UltraAVX, D-BOX, and VIP Cinema screenings.

Cineplex is also going to bring back Jurassic World and Minions for the last week before school resumes.

The company's share price closed yesterday at $47.34, which was down 1.27 percent on the day.

It's traded between $40.09 and $51.01 over the past 52 weeks.

Wonder if they'll compensate by showing more commercials after the official movie start time?

Having just spent $36.00 on tickets and snacks for two people to see a 15 minutes of commercials and a movie, I think I have finally convinced my wife that buying movies is the way to go. Oh, and an honourable mention to the "entertainment" of the data mining program known as Scene.

Actually, it's not half price, it's Tuesday pricing. If you have a scene card, it's a little less. But not half price.

      even at 1/2 price

to pay double what it costs to rent, buy over-priced food, have idiots talking and kicking my seat, be asked to dump my coffee on the way in, dirty washrooms... yeah, now I remember why I stopped going out to the movies
