Why are people getting so worked up about a bike path at Kits Beach?

It's a question I've asked myself over the past month, given all the other problems facing our community.

The video above offers a comprehensive answer.

      Check it out.

Wowza. Quite the dose of cynicism contained in this video...

I have no issue with appropriate development or enhancement either, as long as it's not in my neighbourhood!

Based on the caption Charlie provided I thought I was actually going to get an informative take on why the path should not be built.

Instead I get more of the same "I'm a cyclist, I love bike paths, just not this one." How many times are we going to hear that before it gets old?

Stand up for what you believe in. Is the current path the best one I can't say. I do find it ridiculous that people need to justify their position by claiming that "it's okay because I ride a bike."

Your arguments should stand on their own without this nonsense.

Also claiming that the British Columbia Cycling Association is opposed to the path seems slightly disingenuous. CyclingBC the organization that actually endorsed the alternative route (rather than say one isn't necessary) hasn't been called by that name for years.

To heap my own cynicism on the pile, could that have been done so that people would purposely confuse it with other advocacy organizations like the former Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition (now HUB) or the British Columbia Cycling Coalition?
