The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival

From September 12 to 27, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival takes place at various Vancouver venues.

This year, the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary season with some of the world's leading flamenco dancers and musicians, including Spain's Andrés Peña & Pilar Ogalla Company.

Participating performers include Esmerelda Enrique Dance Company, Fiona Malena Flamenco, Flamenco Rosario, Angelita "La del Lito" and Victor Kolstee, Peña Flamenco, and Palma Performing Arts.

The festival also offers an exhibit of flamenco-inspired art by local artists and a series of flamenco workshops, demonstrations, and master classes.
