Paulina Gretzky pops up on the cover of Maxim

Paulina Gretzky continues carving out an identity separate from that of her father Wayne, one of Canada's greatest hockey stars.

The latest manifestation of Paulina's process of individuation is on display on the new cover of Maxim.

Last year, she talked about getting serious about a musical career after titillating her hordes of Twitter followers with her provocative photos.

According to Jungian theorists, individuation is the process of bringing out one's true personality from the conscious and unconscious. It's sometimes defined as discovering one's true Self.

It's much more difficult when your parent is incredibly famous and has a rare surname—and whose accomplishments define who you are.

Maxim reinforced that with the subhead: "The Great One's daughter is puckin' hot!"

I bet you never thought you would get a dose of Jungian psychology alongside a photo of Paulina Gretzky in a bikini.

But hey, I had to come up with something to write underneath this image.

Geez, who picked that photo for the cover? Her bosom looks distorted. Not flattering at all.
