      What are the best universities in Canada?

      According to the QS World University Rankings for 2015-16, here's the Canadian top 10 list:

      1. McGill University (24th in the world)
      2. University of Toronto (34th)
      3. University of British Columbia (50th)
      4. University of Alberta (96th)
      5. Université de Montréal (115th)
      6. McMaster University (149th)
      7. University of Waterloo (152th)
      8. University of Western Ontario (192th)
      9. University of Calgary (204th)
      10. Queen's University at Kingston (206th)

      At 11th place in Canada, Simon Fraser University (225th in the world) just missed the top 10.

      In a news release today (September 17), SFU pointed out that its Canadian rank this year is up from its 12th place showing last year.

      “SFU’s standing is evidence of the University’s growing strengths in both research and reputation,” SFU president Andrew Petter stated in the release. “The fact that SFU is now knocking on the door of Canada’s top 10 universities is remarkable for an institution of our size and age.”

      The University of Victoria (319th in the world) came in at 14th in Canada.
