One Duck Brewing and Faculty Brewing could be the newest players in B.C.'s competitive craft beer industry

      For some of us, Twitter is the nerve centre of the planet.

      That's because it's often first out of the blocks with new information.

      This month, I learned over Twitter that One Duck Brewing has begun work on a new facility in Squamish.

      A Kickstarter page notes that 198 backers have pledged more than $16,000 to bring the brewery to life, surpassing the original goal of $15,000.

      Meanwhile, there's also another craft brewery that could open soon in Mount Pleasant.

      Faculty Brewing's Twitter feed reveals that depending on permitting, it may launch at 1830 Ontario Street in late 2015.

      There are 40 members of the B.C. Craft Brewers Guild and nearly 100 craft breweries across the province.
