The Bottle Rockets are still one of the world's most underrated rock bands

Ever since the Bottle Rockets came out with The Brooklyn Side back in '94 I've been telling people how great they are--but nobody seemed to pay much attention.

And when The Brooklyn Side was reissued by Bloodshot Records last year--along with the band's self-titled 1993 debut--I started telling people again.

And now I'm back on the Bottle Rockets bandwagon because this Friday it releases South Broadway Athletic Club, and damned if that new disc isn't nearly as packed with awesome tunes as The Brooklyn Side.

Check out the opening cut and see if you don't agree:

Just as catchy and fine as that one are new tracks like "I Don't Wanna Know", "Something Good", and "Shape of A Wheel", but since I can't find them on Soundcloud you'll just have to take my word for it and buy the album.

The Bottle Rockets are so great they even made Max Weinberg jealous:
