      When and where: October 16, 8pm at the Rickshaw Theatre
      What to expect: Eddie is a force of nature on stage, switching between social rage and self-doubt. His shows are an energetic combo of calm and chaos, blue-collar angst and sardonic enlightenment. Few comedians working today channel the power of the rant better than Eddie Pepitone.

      What to expect: He is fast, funny and probably the best veteran of the North American funnyman circuit. In addition to his successful and well received live performances all over North America, Mike MacDonald has appeared in such TV shows as The Late Show with David Letterman and the Arsenio Hall Show. As the son of a career Canadian Air Force officer, MacDonald learned at an early age that humour would make him popular.

      What to expect: Check out Vancouver’s next top comics as they develop their craft. Tuesday night is a showcase of talented comics vying for the coveted weekend spots and a development ground for new material for the already seasoned comics.

      Lux Laughs Comedy Competition

      When and where: October 14 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Lux Lounge 
      What to expect: This is it. The last night of the contest. See who will take home the $500 cash prize. With host Steve McGowan and headlining is the hilarious Kyle Bottom. Come down to watch then vote for your favourites. Featuring Ashlee Eff, Jamie Hrushowy, Marly Reed, Colin Lamb, Katie Burrell, Vishal Ramesh, and Heather Szilagyi.

      What to expect: Vancouver TheatreSports League’s Rookie Night puts our young improvisers to the test in front of a hungry crowd. They may just be the future stars of tomorrow. These 90 minutes of improv will showcase the talent of these new players and prepare them for the bright lights of mainstage.

      Lost Words: Sex Edition

      What to expect: What makes a play so controversial that authorities ban it from the stage? That's exactly what we're exploring in our Lost Words series. Pi artistic associates Pippa Mackie and Jeff Gladstone have put together a great event, and you know you want to come. For this edition, we're going to explore everything that makes people so uncomfortable about sex on a stage. It’s going to be very sexy—and twisted.
