Yes, Cineplex did.  And it's all for a good cause.

The Canadian movie theatre chain will be offering a morning of free movies at all of its 22 British Columbia theatres on October 24, starting at 9 a.m.

Its fifth annual Community Day offers guests a range of family-friendly movies with proceeds from donations and concession sales going to the international charity and youth empowerment movement Free the Children.

Last year, Canadian audiences helped to raise over $530,000.

This year's film selection includes Despicable Me 2, Fast & Furious 6, Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, Pitch Perfect, Hop, and Dumb and Dumber To.

Concession offerings, such as soft drinks, coffee, popcorn, and candy items, will be specially priced at $2 each. Mini-Rafiki friendship bracelets will also be available for $2 each.

Participating theatres in the Lower Mainland include:

      • Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver

      • Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas (Vancouver)

      • Cineplex Odeon Park and Tilford Cinemas (North Vancouver)

      • SilverCity Riverport Cinemas (Richmond)
