From the Vault: A Vancouver Classic by Young Canadians

It always pays to know your history. With that in mind, every Saturday From the Vault brings you a classic music video by a Vancouver artist.

It probably seemed like a great idea at the time. Naming a punk-rock band after K-tel, the purveyor of the most middle-of-the-road, crowd-pleasing music imaginable. Unfortunately, the folks at K-tel didn't think it was such a great idea, so the K-Tels became Young Canadians.

The trio of Art Bergmann, Jim Bescott, and Barry Taylor had a brief run at the tail end of the '70s, releasing only a pair of EPs and a single, all for Quintessence Records. From 1979, here's the absolutely scorching single "Automan".
