Police are on scene behind Ivanhoe Pub

(Editor's note: after this story was posted, the VPD told the media that a man was murdered.)

The Vancouver Police Department's Twitter account hasn't offered any details yet.

But clearly, something serious has occurred behind the Ivanhoe Pub in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

According to a tweet from CBC reporter Farrah Merali, the area is behind police tape.
