Homeless in Vancouver: Dog day afternoon in the snow

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Does snow add a layer of cryptography to the “messages” left by dogs for…other dogs? Maybe no one knows.

Do dogs even know what cryptography is—or care?

I think we know the answer to that question.

These three dogs sure looked like they were enjoying the snow in Jonathan Rogers Park this afternoon. So active! Running and jumping, hopping around—capering even.

They were either having a ball or they were freezing their little paws off.

In fact, parks like this one, which isn’t an off-leash park by the way, were the only places I saw today where it looked so perfectly wintery.

Everywhere else the reality was snow on top of some things and slush underneath everything.

The rest of the city, like this lane looking toward Oak Street, was absolutely slushious!
