Well now, just a minute... is it really racism if I were to say something like that to someone who can barely speak English? Consider, if I lived in another country, and was functionally illiterate and non-verbal in the native language, do I have a right to claim racism if someone who has lived there all their life points that out? Come on people, this whole stigma of not being able to point out very obvious realities has gotten to the point of the ludicrous.

This Asian guy totally over-reacted to the point of making verbal threats implying violence. Not to mention his disgusting tone and language...and the store employee is getting fired or suspended?-typical. The disgruntled customer made a significant point-"Do you know many Asians are in this store right now?" I know what my answer to that query would have been. Not racist at all, myself-but I don't feel I should be a second-class citizen of the country where I and many generations of my forebearers were born. Both sides were out of line-and I would say the second guy much more so.

      Well ...

even though the "came off the boat" comment was underhanded and mean, that guy blew up pretty quick, seems a slight bit passive-aggressive and by all appearances a bit of dick himself. I'm sure there's more to this, was the guy being a dick before the video started? Who knows what actually transpired ....

The "victim" threw a hissy fit and started cursing and making treats in a public place around kids and other innocent bystanders. Too bad we didn't see a video of what let up to this. Sure the Sears employee should have never said what he said, but with an attitude like that I don't doubt that the "victim" guy provoked him. Another case of politically correctness only seeing one side of the story.

When he says" do you know how many Asians are in the store now", WHO CAREs.
Why is it ok for Asian to keep reminding us they are Asian, No other person does that.
We are not allow to say We are Caucasian. otherwise we are racist. Same rules should apply for ALL.

If you are Canadian then STOP differentiating!!!

maybe you should just go to the link of the person who posted the video before making any comment, because he witnessed the incident and this is what he said (copied it from fb comments)

      • Ethan Pinnapple Frobisher The Asian guy was putting his 3 year old kid on a lawn mower an the sears guy said get your fucking kid off it's not a play area

Alright well first of all, the man was heated up because his son was yelled at and cursed to get off a lawn mower. Any person, white, black, Asian, if it's between some guy and your helpless child, you would fight to the death. Then on top of that, he made those racist remarks and would apologize. Who wouldn't react like that? First it was your child being maltreated, then your whole ethnicity? I'm glad his ass was fired! That racist son of a gun!!! And these comments before are ignorant suckers who would love to be a member of the Kkk!

I would like to know race of the people who have posted the comments above. Try being on the receiving side of these comments and see how you react. I agree that the customer was wrong to use profanity. But then what is worse, being singled out for your race, or being offended in reaction. You keep taking offensive remarks, till one day it boils over. Try hearing "how the hell so many of you guys get here?" "When are you going to drive like a Canadia?"(I am brown, btw). I just hope this nonsense doesn't happen again. Cheers!

If the scenario had been reversed and an Asian had blurted out something racist there wouldn't even be a suspension or investigation. Flat out fired. It's sickening that in this day and age there are still many closed minded individuals who lack the moral character to think before speaking. The fellow employees stood there and let it escalate. You can even see the lady smiling. I do not advocate violence, nor do I condone the actions that occurred. We're supposed to be "Human beings," then act like it. My parents raised me to be respectful, kind, and courteous. They also raised me to treat people the way I wanted to be treated. No one really won in this incident. Due to a poor lack of judgement made and words that never needed to be said, a man lost his job and a culture will always remember those words, "Let me guess, you just came off the boat?" Not to mention the scenario that played out in front of the eyes and ears of all the little ones running around in the store while this incident escalated. Kids learn from example, neither party led the way. If anything it just added a link to an already failing chain. We need to play nice with one another, just like in the eyes of our little ones who see past the barriers of colour. Stop the hating and lets all learn to be nice to one another.
