Realwheels Theatre presents Whose Life is it Anyway? at the Cultch (1895 Venables Street) from March 11 to 22. Brian Clark’s Tony Award-winning play tells the story about a sculptor who, paralyzed from the neck down after a car accident, fights for the right to die.

“I was first inspired by this play as a young quadriplegic, new to the world of disability,” James Sanders, Realwheels founding artistic director who is currently on medical leave, stated in a news release.  “This play was a gift that inspired me to carry on, and to create artistic expression out of my experiences. Now in midlife, I reflect upon the health issues that have had me in and out of hospital over the last two years, struggling with life and death situations such that I am unable to perform in the play that had inspired me to live. Today, this play highlights for me the reality of everyone's future, the inevitability of death that we will all experience.”

Bob Frazer stars in the lead role and is joined by actors Patti Allan, Marci T. House, Michael Kopsa, Pippa Johnstone, Jennifer Lines, Dawn Petten, Jeffrey Renn, and Marc Senior on stage. Whose Life is it Anyway? is directed by John Cooper, with set and props design by Pam Johnson, lighting by Adrian Muir, costumes by Carmen Alatorre, stage management by Jennifer Swan, and cello performance by Eric Wilson.

Tickets to Whose Life is it Anyway? start at $18 and can be purchased online or by phone at 604-251-1363.
