Anyone who follows children's entertainer Raffi Cavoukian's Twitter account knows how passionate he can be about environmental issues.

These days, he's all fired up about a provincial decision to allow 100,000 tonnes a year of toxic soil to be dumped above Shawnigan Lake's watershed.

The Environmental Appeal Board released a ruling last year supporting the company, South Island Aggregates, despite concerns from area residents.

Cavoukian has aimed much of his criticism at Environment Minister Mary Polak and Premier Christy Clark.

Today, his song "Beatiful Shawnigan Lake" was posted on YouTube in advance of a rally scheduled on Wednesday (January 6) at the landfill site on Stebbings Road.

      Raffi performs "Beautiful Shawnigan Lake".
