Evergreen has launched its Get Dirty campaign. The local organization promoting urban environmentalism and sustainability was founded by Geoff Cape more than 20 years ago. Today, they have teamed up with community partners in B.C. to encourage residents to “get dirty” in order to build healthier cities.

The Dirty Days Challenge encourages Canadians to explore their own backyards and “get dirty for their cities”. Participants are encouraged to share the ways in which they make a difference to the health of their city—whether its cycling to work or shopping locally—by posting a photo on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #GetDirty.

On Sunday (May 4), join others kicking off the Lynnmouth Park Rehabilitation Project by helping to restore the park’s ecosystem through removing invasive species and replacing them with native plants.

On June 7, Vancouver will host 100 in 1 Day, a citizen-driven festival uniting people across the city to make Vancouver a better place.
